Commonwealth Financing Authority Approves Grants for Lower Moreland
HARRISBURG—Rep. Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) has announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has voted to give Lower Moreland Township two grants Murt requested from the Multimodal Transportation Fund.

“I believe these projects are important for connecting our community and expanding our economic base,” Murt said. “I’m pleased the CFA agrees.”

Among the projects, the CFA voted to give $1 million to offset the costs of building the Philmont Avenue SEPTA Parking Garage in Lower Moreland.

“This is important to encourage commuters to use rail when traveling into Philadelphia and throughout the suburbs,” Murt said. “It will ultimately allow SEPTA to relocate the station closer to the west side of Tomlinson Road.”

The CFA also approved a $420,000 grant for Lower Moreland Township to create preliminary engineer designs for improvements at the Philmont Avenue, Pine Road and Tomlinson Road intersection in Lower Moreland Township.

“These changes are critical to improving pedestrian safety,” Murt said. “It will also reduce traffic congestion and help mitigate flooding.”
