HARRISBURG -- Rep. Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) will host a walk to raise awareness of drug addiction and recovery on Saturday, Oct. 2, starting at 1:30 p.m. Registration is at 12:30 p.m.

The event will take place at Hatboro Baptist Church, 32 N. York Road.

The goal of the walk is to support and raise community awareness of individuals struggling with drug addiction.

The route of the walk is approximately 0.6 miles. It will start at Hatboro Baptist Church, proceed south to Horsham Road, cross York Road and return north on York Road back to the church.

The Hope Expo will follow at 1 p.m. It is organized by Angels in Motion and will feature exhibitors from drug recovery houses and rehabs facilities, and offer information on insurance, education, treatment options and harm reduction.

“It is critical that those who face the struggle of opioid addiction know that support is available through programs that can enrich their quality of life,” Murt said. “I encourage participation for what is sure to be a fun and community-inspiring day.”
