HARRISBURG—Rep. Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) will host his first Addiction Education and Informational Forum and Expo to help families learn how best to prevent drug addiction.

“Families from throughout our community have experienced the tragedy of opioid addiction and the anguish of overdose death,” Murt said. “My forum and expo are designed to arm families with knowledge and resources to protect our kids and find help for those caught in the web of drug dependence.”

The event will take place Saturday, April 6, in the Upper Moreland High School auditorium at 3000 Terwood Road in Willow Grove. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the discussion forum at 9:30 a.m. and the expo from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The topics for discussion will be how addiction is a disease, the steps through recovery, how Narcan can save lives, and the signs someone you know is suffering from addiction.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office will have its drug take back car on site to collect unused medications.
