HARRISBURG—Rep. Thomas Murt (Montgomery/Philadelphia) today announced that the Upper Moreland School District will receive a grant to improve security at its schools.
Upper Moreland will receive $40,000 to fund a districtwide school safety, violence prevention, and emergency preparedness plan, and to purchase security-related technology.
“This is so important to maintain security at the district’s schools,” Murt said. “Know that I will continue fighting for these grants and to help our schools keep our kids safe.”
The School Safety and Security Committee took action on 524 applications requesting more than $53 million in state School Safety and Security Grant Program funds to support these school safety and security grants.
