HARRISBURG—The AHA Foundation, a human rights organization founded by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, today endorsed legislation sponsored by Rep. Tom Murt (D-Montgomery/Philadelphia) to criminalize the act of female genital mutilation (FGM).

WHAT: Rep. Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery) will host a press conference on his legislation to make female genital mutilation illegal in Pennsylvania. Murt will be joined by George Zarubin, executive director of the AHA Foundation. The AHA Foundation was founded by human rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

WHAT: Reps. Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) and Madeleine Dean (D-Montgomery) will host an Overdose Awareness Walk and Hope Expo to draw attention to the growing crisis of opioid addiction in the community. The Overdose Awareness Walk will start at Hatboro Baptist Church, proceed south on York Road to Horsham Road, cross York Road and return north on York Road back to the church. The Expo will take place on the church grounds from 1-4 p.m.
