HARRISBURG– Legislation co-sponsored by Rep. Tom Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) that would impose a severance tax on natural gas extracted in Pennsylvania has passed the House Finance Committee. It will now move to the whole House for consideration.

WHAT: Reps. Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) and Madeleine Dean (D-Montgomery) will host an Overdose Awareness Walk and Hope Expo to draw attention to the growing crisis of opioid addiction in the community. The Overdose Awareness Walk will start at Hatboro Baptist Church, proceed south on York Road to Horsham Road, cross York Road and return north on York Road back to the church. The Expo will take place on the church grounds from 1-4 p.m.

HARRISBURG—Rep. Tom Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) will host a community meeting to discuss how stress affects teenagers, symptoms of depression, what is considered a crisis and the warning signs of suicide. Topics will also include bullying and how bullying leads to stress and anxiety.
